Debunking The Mike
What does Bob Fosse
an American musical theater choreographer and director, and a film director have to do with Michael Jackson? Oh nothing…except that he is where Michael Jackson stole his moves from. No doubt I’m as big a MJ fan as anybody…well maybe not ANYBODY; but I found this clip from a movie called “The Little Prince”. You might remember it from 1974, it was first a children’s book from france. The movie had Bob in it, and he played a snake who wanted to bite the little Prince. This is the dance number called “Snake In The Grass”. There is no Doubt in my mind that this is where Michael got his moves. Michael is and will always be the King of Pop and one of the greatest artists of all time; but you gotta give credit where credit is do.
Here’s my theory: I think in 1974 when MJ was 16 years old he went and saw this film “The Little Prince” and he loved it. He loved it so much he watched it 43 times and every time Bob Rosse did his thing on the screen Michael would copy him and dance to the movie. His brothers would yell at him “Sit down Michael, your ruining the movie!” and he would say “No! I’m gonna use these moves in the 80’s and make them iconic!” But they didn’t believe him. Now they know, and so do you. Still don’t believe me? See for yourself:
